(VOVworld) - The annual Phan Chau Trinh Cultural Awards ceremony opened on March 24 in Ho Chi Minh City to honour outstanding individuals in the fields of culture and education, translation and research. Deputy Chief of Trustee, Professor Chu Hao, said as a non-governmental organization, the awards will continue to revive, conserve and promote Vietnamese cultural quintessence for the cultural renovation.

The culture and education award was given to Professor Cao Huy Thuan. The research award went to researchers Trinh Van Thao and Tran Dinh Su for their cultural and historical research on Vietnam’s contemporary. Translator Nguyen Hong Nhung won the translation award for rendering many Hungarian literature and philosophy works into Vietnamese.
