Vietnam has yet to record any H7N9 case. But, controlling the illegal transportation of poultry from neighboring countries is not easy. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat said: "We need to pay special attention to the situation of regional countries, especially those bordering Vietnam, and enhance communications for the public. Drastic measures should be taken to prevent poultry trading and transportation into Vietnam. To monitor the spread of the virus, it’s necessary to examine samples collected from poultry and the environment in high risk areas."
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development asked officials to collaborate with provincial authorities to vaccinate poultry and monitor infected areas.
