Vietnam actively participates in international human rights system
(VOVworld) - The United Nations Development Program representative has praised Vietnam’s contribution to international human rights system.
Speaking in a workshop to mark the International Day for Human Rights in Hanoi on Thursday, Dennis Curry hailed Vietnam’s progress, including the ratification of conventions on people with disabilities and against torture as well as its membership at the UN Human Rights Council.
The Vietnamese National Assembly’s recent approval of amendments to the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedural Code was breakthrough in meeting international standards on human rights. The event was co-hosted by the UNDP and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.
