(VOVworld) – The 132^nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly entered its 3^rd working day with 5 official meetings including a meeting of the Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights where delegates approved a resolution on international law as it relates to national sovereignty, non-intervention in the internal affairs of states, and human rights. Le Minh Thong, deputy head of the National Assembly’s Law Committee, said: "This resolution is of great significance as it reflects the relationship between international law, national sovereignty, and each person. Vietnam has contributed significantly to discussions of the draft resolution in Geneva. Vietnam attaches importance to international law and insists that international law must be taken seriously in international relations and in any issues related to national sovereignty, non-intervention in the internal affairs of states and human rights. In fact, international law should protect human rights. Vietnam welcomes IPU’s approval of the resolution and hopes it will be abided by regarding handling international relations."
