(VOVworld) - The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) marked its 35th anniversary and received the Labor Order, first class, at a grand ceremony in Hanoi on Monday.

In a message sent to Buddhists inside and outside Vietnam, the VBS Supreme Patriarch stressed that the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has always upheld the spirit of living a gospel of life, accompanying the nation, and taking care of the Vietnamese people’s spiritual life.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said that throughout the course of 2,000 years, Buddhism is now an indispensable part of the spiritual needs of the majority of Vietnamese people as well as an important component of Vietnam’s rich and unique culture.
Deputy PM Dam presented the Labour Order to the VBS in recognition of its contributions to the nation.
