Vietnam closely works with UN’s legal bodies
(VOVworld)- The Legal Committee (6th Committee) of the 70th UN General Assembly has discussed law enforcement at national and international levels. In her address, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, Head of the Vietnamese delegation to the UN, said Vietnam is a proactive and responsible member of the international community and supports the law enforcement at national and international levels in line with the UN Charter.

Nga said Vietnam is committed to working closely with UN agencies, UN members and partners to promote the law enforcement at national and international level. She said Vietnam is developing a socialist state governed by law and joining other ASEAN members to develop an ASEAN Community with political connectivity, economic convergence, and social responsibility for the sake of peace, stability and prosperity in Southeast Asia. She expressed her deep concern over recent sovereignty disputes in the East Sea and called on involved parties to restrain from the threat to use or use of force and resolve all disputes through peaceful means in line with international law including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
