He shared the pain of the entire society after the pandemic caused more than 23,000 losses of life while highlighted the noble acts of many people to help others in difficult times.

“Children having lost their parents suffer from major life tragedy. The Party, State, neighbors and relatives will be with them in their life. Despite difficulties, I hope with the State, community and relatives’ support and empathy, the orphans’ spiritual and physical pain would be partly healed,” said Chien.

Following a minute of silence at 20:30, Permanent Member of the party Secretariat Vo Van Thuong joined the ritual in memory of people, civil servants and soldiers who lost their lives due to the pandemic. Organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and localities nationwide, the event aimed to express sympathy to bereaved families over their pain and loss, and remind people of their responsibility in the pandemic combat.
