(VOVworld) – The 1^st ASEAN traditional music festival will open in Vietnam’s central Thanh Hoa province from August 1 – 8. Themed “Connecting world’s heritages”, the festival will be an event where artists can exchange experiences, promote their countries’ traditional music, and absorb the music of other ASEAN countries. 
Pham Dinh Thang, Deputy Head of Performing Arts Department, says: “10 ASEAN countries and some partner countries including the Republic of Korea will participate in this festival. The National Music, Song, and Dance Theatre will conduct the opening ceremony showcasing ASEAN traditional music. All performances will be free to the public.”
