The forum titled "EVFTA – Leverage for Trade and Investment Cooperation in the New Normal" was jointly held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the European Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham) in Hanoi.
Over the last 9 months, two-way trade between Vietnam and the EU reported a positive growth with revenue of 41.3 billion USD, an increase of 13.4% against the same period last year. The number of investment projects has slowed down, but it remains positive with 2,200 projects worth over 22 billion USD.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Dang Hoang An said: “E-commerce has become a bright spot when traditional methods were limited during the pandemic. Many governments, including the EU and Vietnam, have boosted digital economy and e-commerce as a priority in economic recovery and has potential for a cross-border transaction channel in the future. The COVID-19 pandemic, to a certain extent, has forced businesses to adopt a sustainable development path and adjust business management to catch up with new trends and improve competitiveness.”
