Vietnam jumps 5 places on global internet speeds ranking
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam ranked 49th in the world for mobile speeds of 34.80 Mbps, higher than the world average speed of 30.89 Mbps, and 59th for fixed broadband speeds of 47.66 Mbps, during April 2020, according to Ookla, a company that owns the global speedtest.
Also during April, local internet service providers increased broadband speeds for different internet packages to satisfy consumers’ increasing demands during social distancing due to Covid-19.
However, users faced difficulties accessing internet due to problems on the cable system that links Vietnam with its neighbors in the Asia-Pacific region. The repairs have been temporarily fixed since early June.
