President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Bui Van Cuong said the Trade Union has fulfilled its mandate to represent and rally the workforce, communicate the Party’s guidelines, and create a firm political and social foundation for the Party and State.

He said the 4th Industrial Revolution has created both opportunities and challenges for countries moving forward. Mr. Cuong said: “Vietnam's implementation of its commitments in ASEAN, WTO, and new generation Free Trade Agreements will have direct impact on Trade Union. Workers will have more opportunities to find jobs, higher incomes, and better living conditions. When working conditions meet international standards, industrial relations will become more complicated and workers will demand more from the Trade Unions. ”
