(VOVworld) - The National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donations held a press briefing in Hanoi on Tuesday to introduce activities in honor of blood donors. This is part of activities to mark World Blood Donor Day on June 14th which include a ceremony to honor 100 outstanding blood donors in 2013. Nguyen Huu Hong, Vice President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society said: “World Blood Donor Day honors the humane value of blood donation and the cultural beauty of each individual, family and our society. These are role models in the blood donation movement.”

Vietnam hopes to mobilize 1 million blood units this year.
