Over the past 78 years, the Vietnam People's Army has always been loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, and people and upheld the great fighting will, study, research, and mastery of science and military art, self-reliance, striving to overcome all difficulties and challenges, and performing glorious feats to build a beautiful image of Uncle Ho's army.

Addressing the Whole Military Politico-Military Conference 2022 in Hanoi on Tuesday, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, who is Secretary of the Central Military Commission, asked the  whole army to be more aware of and thoroughly grasp the implementation of all-people national defense, people's war, and national defense in the new situation.

“It’s necessary to improve the effectiveness of state management of national defense at all levels and propose an appropriate mechanism to fully tap the role and responsibilities of the political system, participate in consolidating a strong all-people national defense and defense of military zones at all levels,” said Mr. Trong.

The Party chief requested the improvement of combat strength of the military, effective response to non-traditional security challenges, and maintenance of combat readiness to high-tech wars.

“Greater attention must be paid to developing a strong army in regards of politics, considering it the basis for improving the synergy and combat strength, thus building a lean, compact, strong army that is absolutely loyal to the nation, the Party, State, people, and socialist regime,” said Mr. Trong.
