Vietnam wins 2 gold, 4 silver medals at Int’l Maths Olympiad 2019
(VOVWORLD) - All six Vietnamese students who competed in the 60th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in Bath city, the UK, this week, won medals including 2 gold and 4 silver medals.

With this result, Vietnamese delegation gained 177 points and ranks 7th of 110 participating teams. The gold medals went to Nguyen Nguyen from University of Science’s High School for Gifted Students under Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City and Nguyen Thuan Hung from Tran Phu High School for Gifted Students in northern Hai Phong City. Vietnam has competed in the IMO since 1974 and is the first Asian country to take part in this competition. Vietnam won the highest achievement in the IMO in 2004 with 4 gold and 2 silver medals.
