Vietnam Women’s Union advocates safety of women and children
(VOVWORLD) - A safety year for women and children will be inaugurated in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to mark the 179th anniversary of the Trung Sisters Uprising and the 109th International Women’s Day.

At a press conference in Hanoi on Friday, the Vietnam Women’s Union said the program will encourage people to join hands for the safety of women and children. Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Head of the Education and Communication Department of the Vietnam Women’s Union, said: “All the activities will focus on this year’s theme: safety of women and children. We have worked with the Ministry of Public Security, the Supreme People's Procuracy, and the Supreme People's Court to join activities to protect women and children. We also encourage the involvement of every individual in this effort”.
Kovalevskaya Awards will be presented to outstanding female individuals and groups for their contributions to science.
