(VOVworld) - The Vietnamese government will create optimal conditions for British businesses to increase cooperation activities and make sustainable investments in Vietnam.

The UK is now Vietnam’s leading partner within the EU in investment, trade, and education.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh made the commitment at the Vietnam Economic Forum in London on Thursday and said Vietnam is striving to refine its market economy institutions, change its growth model, and improve its competitive edge. 

Ninh said Vietnam’s macro economy has been maintained with higher growth rates, inflation under tight control, and improvements in people’s living conditions.

Hailing Vietnam’s reform efforts to boost socio-economic growth, Prince Andrew said the British royal family supports the consolidation of bilateral ties and the economic development of both countries.

Later the same day, Deputy PM Ninh met with Prince Andrew to discuss further collaboration.
