Vietnam’s air carriers suspend all international flights

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s air carriers on Wednesday began suspending all international flights amid rising concerns about Covid-19 pandemic.

The latest flight of the national carrier Vietnam Airlines carrying 170 passengers from Germany landed in Van Don Airport  on Wednesday. Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific’s closure of international flights will be effective until April 30.

Bamboo Airways has halted its sole international route to South Korea and delayed the opening of new routes.

Vietjet Air has suspended flights to Southeast Asia, China, Taiwan, South Korea, India, and Japan. It only opens the Hanoi-Tokyo route on March 31, April 2, and April 4.

Vietnam now bans entry of foreigners, except for diplomatic and official passport holders. The government orders the Ministry of Transport to refrain from licensing flights to Vietnam.
