Enterprises have recommended shortening the time from application to ratification, which is now taking one to two months. Procedures for work permit extension have been simplified. Foreigners working in Vietnam with a valid work permit are allowed to relocate to other localities for a period of up to six months.  

Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Le Van Thanh said entry requirements for foreign investors and experts are clearly stipulated. Vietnam will soon make online application quicker and easier. 

“The expiration of Decree 11 makes extending a work permit impossible. Companies hiring foreigners must now follow Decree 152, which simplifies procedures for granting foreign experts new work permits,” said Thanh.
