In a statement posted on Khanh Hoa province’s e-portal on Monday, Mr. Vinh insisted that Truong Sa (Spratly) island district is an integral part of Vietnam’s territory and under Khanh Hoa’s administrative management.

He said Khanh Hoa’s authorities and people were unhappy with China’s staged election in the so-called city of Sansha, illegally set up by China, covering Vietnam’s Truong Sa island district. The election seriously violates Vietnam’s sovereignty.

Khanh Hoa resolutely rejects this illegal act and asks China not to repeat such actions, which harm the bilateral relationship, the friendship between Vietnamese and Chinese peoples, and the feelings of the citizens of Khanh Hoa.
