(VOVWORLD) - These days localities throughout Vietnam are organizing celebrations of the 75thanniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

Five Vietnamese films will be screened for free nationwide. They include the feature film ‘The Silent Soldiers’, the animated film ‘Chameleon Solves a Theft Case’, and three documentaries on nation-building and Vietnam’s development – ‘Memories of Long Châu Lighthouse’, ‘Building Villages on Trường Sa Island’, and ‘Tân Châu Silk Craft Village’.
The screening will depend on COVID-19 restrictions in effect in each locality.
More than 300 documents, photos, and objects featuring the 1945 August Revolution are on display at the Vietnam Military History Museum. Le Vu Huy, Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum, said: “The highlights of the “August Revolution – Historic Landmarks” exhibition are documents issued right after the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The documents confirm basic human rights and Vietnam’s status as the first democratic nation in Southeast Asia.”
More than 150 documents, photos, and other items related to the August Revolution and the declaration on September 2, 1945, of the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam are on display at the National Museum of History in Hanoi. For this occasion, the museum has received a number of items donated by individuals.
The Communist Review and the Ministry of Information and Communications have co-organized an art exchange in Hanoi. Artists will perform famous songs associated with each historical period. Ho Chi Minh City will stage a 15-minute firework display on National Day, September 2.
