B: On the occasion of World Radio Day 2025, February 13, we sincerely thank you for your warm wishes, messages and continued support for VOV5. Your engagement and encouragement inspire us to bring quality content that connects Vietnam with friends worldwide.

A: Amir Jameel, a Pakistani fan of VOV, sent us a beautiful message. He wrote: “Hi Staff and Management Voice of Vietnam’s English Service. I’m Aamir Jameel from Sahiwal, Pakistan. Happy World Radio Day 2025. This year's theme Radio and Climate Change highlights the powerful role that radio plays in raising awareness, sharing vital information and fostering global conversations about climate change. Voice of Vietnam English Service has played a crucial role in shaping my understanding of the country, especially during a time when information about Vietnam was often limited or colored by outside perspectives. Listening to your broadcasts over the years provided me with an authentic view of Vietnam's life, history, and culture directly from the source.”

B: A: Philippe Marsan from France highlighted the theme “Radio and Climate Change”, saying “Voice of Vietnam is a typical example of this environmental theme.”

A: At VOV5, we understand the urgency of climate change and remain committed to covering environmental stories. On this occasion, VOV’s Vice President Dr. Vu Hai Quang delivered a message to audience around the world: "Radio is not only a familiar medium, but also a bridge of knowledge, helping people better understand the impacts of climate change and how to adapt to it. Radio is always a timely and reliable source of information. When natural disasters occur – storms, floods, or droughts – radio remains the fastest and most accessible means to warn and guide the community on how to respond. Radio creates community connections and promotes action. Radio can inspire, call for the cooperation of the community, businesses, and governments in protecting the environment, reducing carbon emissions, and developing renewable energy."

B: In the coming months, we will broadcast more reports on Vietnam’s efforts in sustainable development, green energy solutions, and climate resilience, along with interviews with environmental experts. Stay tuned for upcoming episodes where we explore Vietnam’s mangrove restoration projects and the role of local communities in combating climate change.

A: Vicentiu Daniel Gheorghe, President of the VOV Romania Club, shared how VOV5 has become an essential part of his life, offering a unique connection to Vietnam. Your words reinforce our belief in the power of radio to transcend borders, fostering friendships and cultural exchanges. We will continue to bring more features on Vietnam’s traditions, contemporary society, and global partnerships.

B: Eugene Kornykhin from Russia was captivated by our feature on Vietnam’s mountainous regions, stating, “I always imagine Vietnam with vast rice fields, so I listened to your report about the mountains with interest.”

A: Vietnam is indeed a country of breathtaking diversity. While the rice fields of the Mekong Delta and Red River Delta define much of our landscape, the northern provinces such as Ha Giang, Lao Cai, and Son La showcase a completely different side of Vietnam—rugged mountains, winding passes, and colorful ethnic cultures.

B: One of the most trending activities during the early days of this Lunar New Year is tours of Moc Chau. Nestled in Son La province, Moc Chau Plateau is a paradise for nature lovers and those eager to experience the breathtaking flower seasons of northern Vietnam. Among its seasonal highlights is the mesmerizing plum blossom season, which occurs every January and February, transforming the landscape into a stunning spectacle of pure white.

A: As spring approaches, Moc Chau dons a pristine white coat, with plum trees blooming in unison. From the lush Nà Ka Valley to the serene Ban Ang pine forest and the heart-shaped tea hills, the area creates a picturesque tableau that embodies the spirit of the northwest.

B: Traditionally, plum blossoms in Moc Chau bloom sporadically, but this year, favorable weather conditions have led to a magnificent simultaneous bloom.

A: The plum blossom season not only provides a visual feast but also significantly boosts Moc Chau's tourism appeal. In Ban Pa and Ta Phinh, plum gardens have become popular attractions, charging a modest entry fee of 30,000 VND (1.2 USD) per person. This influx of visitors has dramatically increased local revenues, with some households earning as much as 30 million VND (1,200 USD) on peak days.

Hoang Manh Duy, Deputy Managing Director of Moc Chau Island Tourist Area, said: “We prepared very early for peak holidays, especially during this Lunar New Year of the Snake. In addition to preparing facilities, our staff has also been strengthened to best serve customers.”

B: The popularity of the plum blossom season extends beyond the gardens. Many homestays and hotels in the area are fully booked.

B: This year’s plum blossom season has not only attracted individuals but also invigorated the tour market. Many travel companies are launching short-term tour packages to cater to tourists eager for sightseeing and photography opportunities.

A: Rabi Sankar Bosu from India asked about Vietnam’s famous spiritual sites. Vietnam boasts a rich spiritual heritage with numerous revered destinations. Notable among them are Yen Tu Mountain in Quang Ninh Province, Perfume Pagoda on the outskirts of Hanoi, Bai Dinh Pagoda in Ninh Binh province, Thien Mu Pagoda in Hue, and Ba Den (Black Lady) Mountain in Tay Ninh province. These sites attract both pilgrims and tourists seeking peace, cultural enrichment, and breathtaking landscapes.

B: We sincerely appreciate each message, suggestion, and expression of support from our listeners worldwide. Your engagement keeps VOV5 strong and committed to bringing stories that matter. Keep tuning in, sharing your thoughts, and being part of the VOV5 global community!
