Vietnam's insurance market grew strongly compared to other countries in the past 10 years, the Ministry said. Major indicators of total assets, the amount of money invested back into the economy, insurance premium revenue and the equity of the business have increased on average by over 20% per year.

Vietnam currently has 70 businesses operating in life insurance, non-life insurance, insurance brokerage, reinsurance and one foreign-owned non-life insurance branch. Equity of these businesses has increased by 38% a year, currently reaching 4.9  billion USD. Insurance businesses have created nearly one million jobs thanks to a system of branches and representative offices throughout provinces.
