Cuong thanked the people of Chile, the Communist Party of Chile, and left-wing, progressive and peace-loving forces for their enduring support and solidarity with Vietnam during the country's past struggle for national independence and reunification and in its ongoing efforts for national development.

He said that Vietnam highly values and wishes to promote cooperation with ruling and progressive as well as political parties with traditional friendship, including the Communist Party of Chile, for the benefit of people in each country. He expressed his hope for developmental experience-sharing between the two Communist Parties.

For his part, Soto said the Communist Party of Chile has learned from Vietnam's experience in the struggle for national liberation and now wants to learn from Vietnam's development model. He emphasized that Chile, regardless of party, supports the cooperative relationship in all fields with Vietnam.

Also on Sunday, President Luong Cuong received President of the Socialist Party of Chile Paulina Vodanovic. Cuong said he hopes that the two Parties will strengthen close coordination and effectively implement the cooperation agreement between the two Parties, developing comprehensive cooperative relations between the two countries.

On this occasion, President Cuong met with the delegation of the Chile-Vietnam Institute of Culture led by Patricia Abarzua.
