(VOVWORLD) - The 13th Party Central Committee commenced its 9th session in Hanoi on Thursday under the chair of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

During the session, the committee will discuss the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress, the preparation for the direction over the organization of all-level Party congresses ahead of the 14th National Party Congress, and some other important issues.
In his opening remarks, General Secretary Trong said the 14th National Party Congress is scheduled to take place in early 2026. This will be a significant political event and a highly important milestone on the country’s path of prosperous and everlasting development.

He requested the committee to thoroughly consider the documents and discuss the concrete proposals mentioned in the reports and draft documents.
"The reports on socio-economic development, Party building and implementation of the Party regulations are the thematic reports, specializing on the implementation of socio-economic development tasks and Party building and rectification. They are the foundation evidencing the correctness of assessments and creating a thorough understanding and concretization of major orientations on guidelines, policies and solutions summarized in the Political Report," said Mr. Trong.
"They must be compatible and consistent with the major viewpoints and orientations stated in the Political Report. The outline of the documents submitted to this plenum only sets out the orientation and is open with many different options for the Party Central Committee to give guidance and comments,” said the Party Chief.
General Secretary Trong added this session’s agenda is critical to the 13th Party Central Committee’s fulfillment of political tasks, the preparation of documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress, and the direction over the preparation for all-level congresses ahead of the 14th national event.
He asked the Central Committee to thoroughly discuss the reports and plans to make decisions at the end of the session.
The 9th session is set to last until May 18.
