After an unsuccessful competition at the world gymnastic championships in October, 2015, Ha Thanh was determined to showed off her best skills in the competition to achieve stable scores on April 18. After four events, the 25-year-old gymnast ranked 25th with 52.7 points, helping her earn an official ticket to Rio de Janeiro this August. This is the second time Ha Thanh has won the right to attend the Olympics after her first time in 2012.
Earlier on April 17, male gymnast Pham Phuoc Hung claimed a ticket to compete at the Olympic Games 2016 with a total score of 84,032 and the 16th position in the rankings. He previously competed at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. So far, 14 Vietnamese athletes have booked slots in Rio de Janeiro this summer.
