(VOVworld) - The 14th annual Hoi An-Japan Cultural Festival opened in Hoi An town, Quang Nam province, yesterday. The event is the biggest rendezvous for the Japanese community living in Hoi An and the central region, and a chance for people in Hoi An to experience Japanese culture.

The festival features traditional Japanese culture including Kimono, Manga comics, Cosplay, Origami paper folding, and folk games of Vietnam and Japan.
Le Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee, said: “The Vietnamese-Japanese relationship has developed for more than 400 years. The previous Hoi An-Japan Cultural Festivals attracted a lot of Vietnamese and Japanese visitors. The event aims to strengthen the Japanese-Vietnamese relationship, particularly between Hoi An and Japan, and to make Japanese and Vietnamese people understand more about the two countries’ relationships.”
