(VOVWORLD) - 160,000 businesses registered for its establishment this year, an increase of 7.2% over the same period last year and a record high figure, the Ministry of Planning and Investment said on Wednesday.

The number of newly registered businesses in 2023 is 1.2 times the average level for the period 2017-2022.
According to the Ministry’s Department of Business Registration Management, the businesses resuming operation this year amounted to 58,400, raising the number of businesses entering and re-entering the market to over 200,000, an increase of 4,5% over the same period last year and 1.3 times the number of businesses withdrawing from the market.
The total newly registered capital of businesses entering the market improved over the quarters of this year: 12.7 billion USD in the first quarter; 16.3 billion USD in the second quarter; 15.5 billion USD in the third quarter and the fourth quarter figure increased to 18 billion USD.
