(VOVworld) – Vietnam has prepared specific plans to evacuate Vietnamese citizens from Yemen in case of emergency, said Foreign Ministry Deputy Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang.

Hang made that statement on Tuesday when asked about the situations of Vietnamese workers in Yemen. She said 19 Vietnamese are living in safe areas in Yemen, far away from conflict zones, adding that most of them are offshore fishermen working for a Republic of Korea company.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia and Yemen have kept contact with representatives of Vietnamese workers and cooperated with Yemen’s relevant agencies and the embassies of other ASEAN countries to share information and ensure the safety of Vietnamese citizens.
