20 people killed in violent attack in India
(VOVworld) – At least 20 Indian security personnel were killed and several others were injured in a Naxalite rebel attack in central India.

The ambush took place near Tongpal in the Sukma district, in the central state of Chhattisgarh which is considered the stronghold of Naxalite. According to the police in Chhattisgarh, more than 300 rebels detonated a powerful improvised explosive device and opened indiscriminate fire at the security forces personnel who were patrolling the area on foot. The attack raised concerns about security in Chattisgarh with India’s general election just one month away.
