2014 National Environment Report on Rural Environment released
(VOVworld) – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has released the 2014 National Environment Report to provide an overview of the rural environment of Vietnam over the past 5 years.
The report featured an assessment of the management and protection of the rural environment, proposed measures to raise efficiency, prevent and minimize environmental pollution, and improve the quality of the environment to serve the targets of new rural development in Vietnam.
67 percent of the Vietnamese population lives in rural areas, who are suffering from the impact of environmental pollution, caused by their daily activities and production at industrial parks and neighborhood. The Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment made proposals to the National Assembly, the government and localities to focus their environmental management and minimize the impact of pollution, raise environmental quality and assure the full implementation of targets on new rural development in Vietnam.
