2026 World Cup qualifiers: Team Vietnam defeated by Indonesia in first leg face-off
(VOVWORLD) The Vietnamese men's football team lost 0-1 to home team Indonesia in Thursday night match in the first leg of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers at Bung Karno Stadium.

At the end of the first half, the two teams were tied 0-0. In the second half, the Indonesian players took the lead with a goal in the 52nd minute by Egy Maulana. The score of 0-1 was maintained until the end of the match.
The Vietnamese team will play Indonesia again in the return match next Tuesday, at My Dinh National Stadium, Hanoi.
