30 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to arrive in Vietnam soon
(VOVWORLD) - 30 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine produced by AstraZeneca are expected to arrive in Vietnam in the first quarter of this year at the earliest, Deputy Health Minister Tran Van Thuan told a regular press briefing hosted by the Government on Tuesday.

Priority will be given to frontline health workers, the elderly, and people with high-risk underlying medical conditions, he said.
“Human trials of made-in-Vietnam vaccines are underway and we expect homegrown vaccines will be available by the end of this year or early next year. I think we’ll have enough COVID-19 vaccines for the population,” said Thuan.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said the COVID-19 outbreaks at Van Don airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh and Chi Linh city in the northern province of Hai Duong have been basically under control while Hanoi will complete testing people coming from pandemic-affected areas by Tuesday. He said he supports a Health Ministry proposal on universal health declaration.
