In his opening speech, Thai Prime Minister spotlighted ASEAN achievements guided this year by the theme of “Advancing Partnership for Sustainability”, contributing to creating an ASEAN Community that is people-centred, leaves no one behind and looks to the future. ASEAN has made vigorous steps forward through the adoption of the ASEAN Leaders’ Vision Statement on Partnership for Sustainability and the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific. He also stressed the need to ensure sustainable environment for sustainable economic development, adding that it’s of great importance to boost ASEAN’s cooperation with outside partners in the construction of the ASEAN Community.
