(VOVworld) – The liberation of Quang Nam province on March 24^th, 1975, was a shining symbol of patriotism and a significant milestone in Quang Nam’s revolutionary history, contributing to the victory of the Spring Offensive of 1975.

At a ceremony to mark the 40^th anniversary of Quang Nam’s Liberation on Tuesday, Le Phuoc Thanh, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said that over the past 40 years Quang Nam province has continued its revolutionary tradition and made great achievements in socio-economic development. Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat Le Hong Anh hailed Quang Nam province’s achievements especially in the renewal period: “Quang Nam province needs to continue to fulfill tasks assigned by the Party and the National Assembly which focus on making full use of the province’s potentials for socio-economic development. The province needs to further patriotic emulation movements, mobilize and effectively use resources, apply science and technology, and improve human resource quality to develop the economy”.

On this occasion, Quang Nam province inaugurated a monument commemorating heroic mothers whose children sacrificed their lives fighting for liberation.
