(VOVworld) – The two-day ASEAN Chief Justices’ meeting concluded Sunday in Hanoi after discussing ways to increase cooperation in environmental issues between ASEAN courts.

Addressing the closing ceremony, Chief Judge of the Vietnamese People’s Supreme Court Truong Hoa Binh hailed the meeting’s success, saying that the meeting made practical contribution to the building of an ASEAN Community by 2015. He added the meeting was a good opportunity for ASEAN courts to share experience and information on resolving environmental issues.
The participants reviewed the Jakarta Common Vision on Environment and the Hanoi Plan of Action and discussed ways to ensure local interests while protecting the environment against deforestation and timber and wildlife trafficking.
