More than 29,000 citizens have received new ID cards to date, including 1,369 delegates to the 13th National Party Congress late last month. Major cities and provinces will quickly issue chip-based ID cards. Hanoi is scheduled to finish issuing chip-based ID cards to the city’s residents in April.
