(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam Airlines conducted two special flights in the last 3 days to bring home 540 Vietnamese citizens stranded in Cuba and several African and European countries by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The majority of passengers were children under 18, students who had already recently completed their academic year, elderly people, people with illnesses, tourists, and workers with expired visas. Some had been stranded in Ivory Coast, Algeria, Morocco, Nigeria, Egypt, Senegal, Lebanon, Tanzania, or Guinea.
After landing at Da Nang or Van Don airport in Vietnam, all crew members and passengers had their body temperature checked and were immediately placed in quarantine.
