(VOVworld) - A ceremony was held in Hanoi on Monday to mark 55 years of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations.

Head of the Party Central Committee’s Communications and Education Commission Dinh The Huynh said the 55 years of friendship and comprehensive cooperation have become valuable assets of the two countries. He said he believed future generations will continue to deepen bilateral ties. Cuban ambassador to Vietnam Herminio Lopez Diaz said relations between the two countries have been based on their common cause of building socialism, promoting social equality, protecting national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and fighting for peace.
