(VOVworld)- The Vietnam Confederation of Labor’s Executive Committee convened its 5^th session in Hanoi on Thursday to discuss its performance in 2014 and orientations for next year. In her address, Ha Thi Khiet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, stressed the need to improve the quality of trade union activities and promote patriotism among workers. She urged agencies to address workers’ urgent issues relating to employment and housing policies. Ms Khiet said:“Trade unions at all levels need to work out programs to effectively address workers’ housing problems. Localities and enterprises need to join efforts to provide housing for workers. Fine-tuning labor and worker laws is essential”.

In the near future, the Vietnam Confederation of Labor plans to fine-tune laws on labor sanitation, wages, and legitimate rights of trade union members and launch more patriotic emulation movements.
