(VOVworld)- The External Relations Commission of the Party Central Committee held a ceremony to mark its 65^th anniversary in Hanoi on Saturday.

The Commission’s great contribution to Vietnam’s diplomacy and national construction and defence was highlighted at the meeting. Hoang Binh Quan is Head of the Commission: “Reality shows that the Party External Relations Commission has played an important role in mapping out and implementing the Party and State’s foreign policies. The Commissions has contributed to consolidating the political foundation of Vietnam’s external relations and mobilizing international support for Vietnam’s revolutionary cause”.

In his address, Politburo member and Permanent member of the Party’s Central Committee Le Hong Anh urged the Commission to contribute to maintaining a peaceful and favourable environment for national construction and defense as well as mobilizing international support for national industrialization and modernization. Anh said:“The External Relations Commission of the Party Central Committee needs to improve its research and strategic drafts to better fulfill its task of commanding the Politburo and the Party Secretariat in external relations activities. It’s necessary to strengthen the Party’s external relations as well as people-to-people diplomacy among Party organizations”.
