By March 31, more than 26 million opinions from individuals and organizations had been collected, and 28,000 meetings and conferences had been held. Speaking at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, who is Chairman of the Committee said that the referendum was a massive political drive which has the participation of all Vietnamese people both inside and outside the country. Hung underlined that the collection, summarizing, and studying of the pubic opinions would be carried out seriously from local level to the committee level, so that the constitutional version to be submitted to the National Assembly will be of the highest quality.
