(VOVworld) -The seventh session of the Hanoi People’s Council opened on Monday. Hanoi’s economy in the first half of 2013 observed steady growth of 7,67% with inflation under control and stable markets. Also, the planning and management, urban area, construction and traffic were improved and political security maintained. However, there remained problems such as the overcrowding of hospitals, environmental pollution and stagnant production. Ngo Thi Doan Thanh, Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Council, said: These are very big and difficult problems. I ask that the Council of People's should identify the areas of weakness and their causes, so as to propose measures for the fulfillment of the 2013’s targets.

At this session, the People's Council discussed orientations for the second half of year, Capital Law implementation, and the vote of confidence in accordance with the National Assembly resolution as well as the guidelines of the People's Committee of Hanoi.
