(VOVworld) - The Vietnam Confederation of Labor has held a ceremony to praise outstanding labor union chiefs nationwide.


Speaking at the event on Sunday, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, Tong Thi Phong, said that after 85 years of development the confederation has timely implemented Party guidelines and State policies by promoting productivity and creativeness in production while honoring excellent trade union members:“The confederation should continue its advisory role to the Party and State in policy making in terms of salaries, rewards, healthcare insurance, nursery services and housing for workers. Those are pressing issues facing workers that the labor union must resolve. Amendments to the Labor Union Law and Labor Code must be introduced to workers and employers for successful enforcement. This will uphold the confederation’s role as the protector of workers’ legitimate interests.”
