(VOVWORLD) - The world had recorded more than 349.8 million COVID-19 infections and 5.6 million deaths as of Sunday, according to worldometers.info. The United States has remained the hardest-hit country.
More than 9.9 billion doses of COVID vaccine have been administered across 184 countries, according to Bloomberg. The latest rate was roughly 36.5 million doses a day. At this pace, it will take four months until 75% of the world's population will have received at least one dose.
In total, 126 doses have been administered for every 100 people around the world—but the distribution has been lopsided. Countries and regions with the highest incomes are getting vaccinated more than 10 times faster than those with the lowest, according to Bloomberg.
