(VOV) – A conference to launch a project to assist the disabled in the 2012-2020 period took place today/ on Tuesday in Hanoi.

Launched by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the United Nation Children’s Fund, the project works out 9 goals to assist the disabled in the fields of culture, education, transportation and economic development. The project includes measures to socialize and mobilize support from individuals and organizations to the disabled and promote scientific research in functional rehabilitation for the disabled people. Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social affairs, Nguyen Trong Dam said: "This is considered an important task of ministries and provinces. Every government’s policy and program is built from the grass root level, so Chairmen of People’s Committee and People’s Council need to take drastic measures so that the program can be implemented synchronously in localities by the first quarter next year".
