Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Nguyen Trong Dam, spoke at the ceremony that Vietnam’s achievements in gender equality have been acknowledged internationally thanks to the government’s policy and actions and particularly efforts of women themselves. He urged women to further improve their self-control and resolute spirit to get involved deeper in social activities: “Bias thought and gender partiality are reasons of violence of women and girls. The wish of living in a powerful nation, where there is equality, no poverty and no one is left behind, will be realized if we work together with responsibility and love.”
During the action month for gender equality and fight against gender-based violence from November 15 to December 15, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs will work with other ministries and sectors to organize policy dialogues with young people, training courses, and sports and performances at localities.
