(VOVworld) – The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a ceremony on Sunday to present Party Membership Badges to 2,626 Party members on the occasion of the 70^th anniversary of National Day. Politburo member and Secretary of the City’s Party Committee Le Thanh Hai praised the significant contributions made by the Party members to the cause of Party building and to national construction and defense.

A live video conference, entitled “Independence Flag”, was held by Vietnam Television at the Thang Long Royal Citadel archeological site in Hanoi and the Thu Ngu flag tower in Ho Chi Minh City. During the event, the permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Le Hong Anh and National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong offered a floral tribute to war veterans who joined the General Uprising of the August Revolution in 1945. The program opened with a dance themed “the Party’s flag” portraying the patriotic resistance movements of Vietnamese people around the country in the early 20^th century.
