Activities held to mark Youth Union’s 90th founding anniversary

The Youth Union chapter in Lao Cai province on Friday debuted a book on the history of the Youth Union chapter (1957-2017) at a ceremony to celebrate the event. The book consists of 6 chapters featuring the history on the foundation, development, tasks, and activities of the chapter.

A seminar was held in Russia’s city of Saint Petersburg on Friday to mark the occasion. Addressing the seminar, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Ngo Duc Manh highlighted the significance of the event, which was aimed at makring the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s 90th founding anniversary, adding that many generations of young Vietnamese and Russian have always stood side by side and supported each other.

As part of the seminar’s activities, Saint Petersburg City’s External Relations Committee introduced a book featuring featuring 70-year Vietnam-Russia relations compiled by Ambassador Manh. It features more than 700 images and documents classified into diplomatic events and cooperation activities in politics, economy, defence-security, culture, education, science, and people-to-people diplomacy.

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU)’s chapter in Laos and the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos co-organised a meeting in Vientiane on Fridayto mark the occasion.

Speaking at the event, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the chapter Tran Dai Thang reviewed the glorious tradition of the HCYU since its inception, noting that with its pioneering role, the union has made important contributions to the cause of national construction and defence.
