Activities relating to Ordinance on Belief and Religion revisions reviewed
(VOVworld) – National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu on Wednesday worked with the Government’s Committee for Religious Affairs to review activities relating to the revision of the Ordinance on Belief and Religion.

He stressed that religion is a big and sensitive issue and supported a more comprehensive legal document on religious affairs. He recommended adjusting regulations which are no longer relevant and promoting the Ordinance into Law at an appropriate time. In order to have a basis for revising the Ordinance, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Government’s Committee for Religious Affairs have to thoroughly assess issues relating to belief and religion, state governance, and the number of legal documents on this issue. Mr. Luu noted that Vietnam has to compare its regulations with international conventions in which it has participated and refer to international experience in law-making.
