(VOVworld) – Various activities have been held across Vietnam to celebrate Buddha’ 2,559th birthday.
On Sunday, the Buddhist Sangha of Bac Lieu province held a ceremony where a message of the chief of the Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam was read to Buddhist dignitaries and followers at home and abroad with a wish for the global peace.
The congratulatory letter by the President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Nguyen Thien Nhan was also read on this occasion.The same day, a similar celebration with traditional Buddhist rituals took place at Great Lord Buddha pagoda.
Monk Thich Hue Thanh, head of Ca Mau provincial Buddisht Sangha, called on more than 500,000 local Buddhist monks and followers to donate to help earthquake victims in Nepal.
